Support built around you

Good days, bad days and everything in between. Our Specialist Support Team is here to see you through them all.

Our compassionate, person-centred approach to specialist care gives you the stable foundations to lead the life you want to live.

We call it ‘person-centred’ because it’s as individual as you are and designed to wrap around your unique needs. It’s always and only the right support, at the right time, in the way that suits you best.

What does specialist support involve?

Depending on your circumstances, Specialist Support could include a mix of Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy and Positive Behaviour Support.

It takes into account specific mental health needs and trauma, and where relevant is adjusted for neurodiversity.

Model of support

Our model has three different tiers of support, so that we can provide precisely the right care at precisely the right time. Your needs are the number one priority at all times.

Tier 1

The foundation for all of our Specialist Support & Therapy. Our team understands and applies core Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) principles to promote the best life choices and chances. At Tier 1, we focus on your strengths and positives to improve your quality of life.

Tier 2

This sees our team co-design a Positive Behaviour Support Plan or Wellness Recovery Action Plan, focusing on goals, skills building and targeted interventions specific to your individual wants and needs. At Tier 2 we also carry out Periodic Service Reviews to assess how well and effectively we’re delivering the PBS Model for you.

Tier 3

We also provide Crisis Intervention and Intensive Support for anyone who needs it. We give timely, expert help and advice to colleagues and people drawing on our support, ensuring the very best care at all times.

Therapeutic Tools

Psychology
Psychology boosts emotional wellbeing, personal growth and positive mental health through deeper understanding of your thoughts, feelings and actions. Crucially, we help you develop practical coping strategies for times when things feel tough.

Occupational Therapy
Sometimes we all need some extra support with skills and confidence for daily life. By developing these, Occupational Therapy can give you the tools to help you feel more self-assured, independent and comfortable in the life you want to lead.

Speech & Language Therapy
When you can express yourself, you’re more free to be yourself. This type of therapy is on hand to support communication, language, speech and swallowing, helping you say more, connect more and do more.

Positive Behaviour Support
This focuses on positive choices and practical strategies that make you feel safer, happier and more in control. Whether we’re working on what’s already happened or planning what’s next, your support always fits around what you need, when you need it.

Empowerment is a big priority. Our aim is to help you build the life skills to keep thriving when things are good, and get better and better at dealing with hard times when they do come around.

You’re never on your own though. Because it’s in-house here, Specialist Support is always on hand to dovetail with your regular care team. No long NHS waiting lists – you can make use of the extra help as and when the need arises.

In the experiences of people who draw on our support, the quality and availability of this expertise can bring life-changing stability and peace of mind.

How does Specialist Support work in action?

You build a bond of trust with your highly-trained care team, so they’re always at the heart of the support you draw on from us.

Our specialists are here to plug in expertise and guidance where and when it’s needed.

In effect, they’re supporting your care team to support you. So while you won’t always meet our specialists, you’re always the one to benefit from their work.
