Types of support
Shaping care around the life you want to lead
It’s more than where you live
At Choice Care, we don’t start by talking about types of support. We start by talking about you. Being in a place where you can thrive is about more than your address. It’s the bigger picture, including the support you receive, the people around you, and the kind of life you want to lead.
Whether you want to live independently, share with others, enjoy city life, or prefer somewhere quieter, what matters most is that your support fits you.
That’s why we focus less on labels like Residential Living, Supported Living or Day Opportunities, and more on creating consistent, personalised care that helps you feel comfortable, confident and truly yourself.

Residential Living
Residential Living is for people who want to live in a safe, supportive shared home, with a dedicated team on hand day and night.
You’ll have your own bedroom (or annexe), while sharing welcoming communal spaces like lounges, dining areas and gardens. It’s consistent, personalised care designed to help you feel comfortable, confident and truly at home.
Supported Living
Supported Living is often described as a ‘step towards independence’. But at Choice Care, we believe that your support needs shouldn’t be the determining factor as to whether it is right for you.
The amount of support you receive is completely personalised, whether that’s round the clock or a few hours a day.
You could live in your own home, apartment or shared house, but you’ll have your own tenancy agreement with an independent landlord or housing association and you’ll be responsible for covering the costs of your bills.
Day Opportunities
Day Opportunities are ideal if you want support during the day while living with family or within your own arrangements.
These services run Monday to Friday and offer far more than planned activities, with friendly teams supporting you to build confidence, explore interests, try new things and feel part of a community.
Each day is different, from wellbeing sessions and creative activities to cooking, gardening and getting involved in local projects.
Support at home
Support at Home brings Choice Care support into your own home, offering the same quality of care without living in a residential or supported living setting.
Your support is fully tailored, whether you need a few hours a day or 24-hour care, and can include personal care, medication support, help at home, and support to get out and about. It’s a flexible option designed to help you live independently while still receiving the support you need to thrive.
