Ravenna Lodge: Great British Care Award Finalists

We are incredibly proud to announce that the team at Ravenna Lodge have been shortlisted as finalists for the Care Team Award in the Great British Care Awards 2026. 

The award celebrates a care team that demonstrates a shared vision and strong leadership, while putting person-centred support at the heart of everything they do. Ravenna Lodge’s finalist recognition is a wonderful reflection of the team’s commitment to empowering the people they support to lead the lives they want to live. 

At Ravenna Lodge, the team is united by a simple but powerful belief: every person has the potential to achieve their aspirations. Through open communication and a strong culture of teamwork, each member understands their role and brings their own unique skills and experience to the people they support. 

The impact of this approach can be life changing. One person arrived at Ravenna Lodge following time in a secure mental health hospital, with limited confidence and independence. With tailored support and a team who believed in their potential, they went on to join community groups and eventually move out to attend university. Their achievements have continued to grow. They have volunteered overseas as a medical student, travelled with their partner and delivered TEDx Talks about their mental health journey – an extraordinary example of what can be achieved when the right support is in place. 

The team’s commitment to dignity and respect is also evident during the most difficult moments. When someone they supported sadly passed away without surviving family, the team ensured their wishes were respected and that they received a dignified farewell. They supported one another and the people they supported through their grief, with members of the team attending the funeral. 

Families and loved ones are actively involved in decisions and service development, with honest communication and reassurance at the heart of relationships. People supported at Ravenna Lodge have described it as the happiest and most supportive home they have experienced. The team also remains committed to learning and professional growth, continually looking for ways to improve the support they provide.

This recognition means so much to us as a team and reflects everything that makes Ravenna Lodge so special.”
