Since joining Choice Care, Chinoso has developed his skills and discovered a passion for leadership, supporting him to progress into a Team Leader role. Here’s Chinoso’s journey so far…
What do you love about your job?
“The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that the work I do has a positive impact on people’s lives. Every person has their own goals, strengths and challenges, and it is a privilege to support them on their journey.
I also enjoy working with colleagues, sharing knowledge, learning from different experiences and contributing to a positive team environment. Seeing someone grow in confidence, independence or have a better day reminds me why I chose this profession.”
What inspired you to join the care sector?
“I have always enjoyed supporting people and helping them lead the lives they want to live. When I started working in social care, I quickly realised how rewarding it was to make a positive difference in someone’s life. Whether it is promoting independence, encouraging confidence, or supporting someone in achieving their personal goals, every day brings an opportunity to have a meaningful impact.”
“Seeing how compassionate and person-centred support can improve someone’s quality of life inspired me to continue building my career in the care sector.”
How have Choice Care supported your career progression?
“Working at Choice Care has given me valuable opportunities to grow both professionally and personally. Progressing into a Team Leader role has allowed me to develop my leadership, communication and decision-making skills while supporting colleagues and working alongside healthcare professionals and external agencies.
The experience has also strengthened my confidence in leading shifts, promoting safe and person-centred care, and finding practical solutions to everyday challenges – encouraging me to continue learning and developing.”
What are your career goals for the future?
“My goal is to continue learning, developing and taking on greater responsibilities throughout my career. I have a strong interest in quality assurance, governance, compliance and health and safety because I believe these areas play an important role in delivering safe, effective and high-quality care.
I enjoy improving systems, solving problems and finding better ways of working. I hope to continue making a positive contribution to both the people we support and my colleagues.”
