Hazeldene’s Agnieszka Panek Recognised in Berkshire Care Awards!

We are so proud to share that Agnieszka (Aga) Panek from Hazeldene in Reading, part of the Choice Care Group, was shortlisted for the Berkshire Care Association (BCA) Care Awards 2026! Aga was nominated for the ‘Support Worker within a Learning Disability Service’ category and was recognised for her commitment to helping the people we support at Choice Care.

Aga was recognised for the vital role she plays in supporting adults with learning disabilities to live fulfilling, varied lives that reflect real experiences rather than repetitive routines. She actively encourages people to get out and try new activities.

Through her encouragement and good humour, she helps build confidence, inclusion and pride. Highly organised and forward-thinking, Aga ensures activities are well planned and shares regular updates with families via the Choice Care internal colleague app ‘ChoiceHub’, where her enthusiasm earned her a ChoiceHub award for consistent engagement.

Reliable, proactive and always willing to help, Aga makes a meaningful difference every day and is a truly deserving nominee for this award.

Aga attended the awards ceremony at Windsor Racecourse on 14 May and says:

‘To be nominated for an award by the BCA as an Activities Coordinator is such an honour and something I truly didn’t expect. I put my heart into what I do every day, so this recognition means so much to me. It came as a real surprise, but it makes all the hard work worthwhile. I’m proud to stand alongside such tough competition and very grateful for this amazing opportunity.’
