The Hollies gets CQC ‘Good’ rating!

We’re delighted to announce that The Hollies has received an overall ‘Good’ rating from its recent CQC inspection! The Hollies, in Sutton in Ashfield, is a residential service which supports up to 21 adults with learning disabilities and autism across six bungalows and three individual flats.

The CQC report recognised that people had strong relationships with the care team who knew them well, listened to them and supported their interests and hobbies. Relatives echoed this feedback, describing colleagues as kind, committed caring, respectful and responsive. They also said that colleagues supported choice and person-centred care, facilitated family contact through visits and video calls and went “over and above” to meet needs. Relatives also described the service as well led and said they were confident in the staff team and management.

The CQC report states: ‘This feedback supported our observations during our site visits, and reflected a culture of safety, kindness, and person-centred care.’

To celebrate the good news, the team will be hosting an Open Day on Friday 19th December from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. where professionals will be able to meet both the colleagues and people we support at The Hollies, complete with Christmas jumpers and mince pies.

Benjamin Meadley, Registered Manager of the Hollies says: ‘We are delighted with the CQC awarding us ‘Good Overall’ at our recent inspection! We were also pleased to see the fantastic feedback from the people we support and their families. We are looking forward to celebrating the good news with an Open Day’

Frances Love, Group Operations Director at Choice Care, says: ‘This is fantastic news, and we’re so delighted to see the great feedback of the people we support and their families and seeing how people are really thriving at The Hollies. Choice Care is all about helping people live the life they want to live, and it’s really great to see this in action and being recognised by the CQC.’
