Meet Dimitrios, our new Clinical Training Lead
We spoke to Dimitrios, our new Clinical Training Lead, about his new role and what the new strategy will bring for the people we support and colleagues.
Hi Dimitrios! What does the new structure mean for you and your team?
“The new structure brings so many exciting opportunities, specifically a chance for development and creating new ways to deliver high-quality care. It highlights how much Choice is expanding and how invested we are in delivering meaningful, person-centred support.”
That’s so exciting! Can you tell us a bit about your role and what it will involve?
“Of course! I’ll be:
- Leading all clinical training for our team, helping to ensure colleagues have the knowledge and confidence they need to support people in a way that suits them.
- Helping the Specialist Support Team enrol onto courses in partnership with Swansea University to obtain their Level 4 qualification in Behavioural Support and moving onto completing a Level 5 qualification.
- Rewriting all clinical training content so it’s more accessible and practical for teams to deliver.
- Working alongside homes directly and supporting people, through times they may need help navigating.
- Working with local universities to find student psychotherapists and counsellors”
What are you most looking forward to about the new launch?
“I’m really looking forward to the introduction of more specialist support. This new structure means we can offer more targeted and personalised care. I am also attending some conferences on behalf of Choice to speak about the care we provide and represent the quality of work we do, making Choice stand out as the exceptional care provider we are.”
How will this contribute to providing better care for the people we support?
“There’s going to be better resources, meaning the people we support, and colleagues will be able to access support from familiar faces, which will, in turn, ease pressure on local NHS services. This will lead to better experiences all round and ensure we are equipped to provide exceptional care and support.”
