Lorenzo Cincora - Digital Innovator Finalist

We’re thrilled to announce that Lorenzo Cincora has been shortlisted as a Finalist in the 2026 Social Care Leadership Awards in the Digital Innovator category.  

The Social Care Leadership Awards are a celebration of excellence in senior leadership across all areas of the care sector, including learning disabilities and autism, children and young people, dementia care and leaders from care homes and supported living settings.  

The Digital Innovator award celebrates pioneers who demonstrate exceptional advancements in utilising digital and technological solutions to enhance social care services. It recognises innovators who use technology creatively to significantly improve the quality, efficiency and accessibility of complex social care delivery, thereby making a lasting positive impact on individuals and communities.  

Earlier this year, Choice Care nominated Lorenzo, Digital Training and Support Manager, for the Digital Innovator award. Lorenzo has worked at Choice Care for nine years, starting out as a Social Care Worker and even becoming a cook before moving into managerial roles, and finally to Digital Trainer. 

In his current role, Lorenzo has been a significant driving force behind Choice Care’s digital transformation, leading on a wide portfolio of projects which are improving the way care is delivered across more than 100 of our services. 

Lorenzo has led the rollout and adoption of key digital systems which have had a hugely positive impact, not only on our services, but also across the wider organisation. Some of his achievements include the development of the HR system, maintenance reporting, the ChoiceTED learning portal, the migration of server-based document storage to Sharepoint, and perhaps most significantly, the organisation-wide rollout of Nourish, our digital care planning system.  

The successful rollout of Nourish was in part down to the implementation of our Digital Champions scheme; Lorenzo worked to build a network of digital champions across services, using a ‘train-the-trainer’ and buddy approach to support colleagues locally. His approach has now been into integrated into rollouts of all new technology-related systems, ensuring everyone across the organisation can feel confident with using new technology systems.  

Lorenzo’s approach has transformed digital confidence, with many colleagues commenting on his influence. One colleague describes his “unwavering dedication, positive attitude, and exceptional service that often goes unrecognised, but never unnoticed.” 

Speaking with Lorenzo on becoming a Finalist in the Social Care Leadership Awards, he said: 

“I’m absolutely thrilled and honoured to be named a finalist for the Digital Innovator Award. For me, digital innovation in care isn’t just about implementing new technology; it’s about finding smart, intuitive ways to make life easier for our teams so they can focus on what matters most: supporting the people in our care. Being recognized for this work means the world to me and I’m really proud of what we’re achieving together across the organisation.”

Having been nominated for the internal Choice Care Awards for the past three consecutive years, it’s clear that Lorenzo is deeply valued by colleagues across Choice Care. Drew Mason, Digital Services Director says: 

“Lorenzo has been instrumental in the accelerated adoption of digital systems at Choice Care. He has driven and personally delivered training on Nourish to over 300 digital champions over a period of 13 months. His knowledge of the service we deliver, given his extensive background in complex care, has enabled him to drive best practice in the use of digital technology.

 

Without his expertise and drive it would not have been possible to go from paper-based care planning to fully digitally enabled care planning in such a short period of time. His patience and nurture have made those people who were originally apprehensive of such a change, into digital advocates.

 

In our sector, it’s people like Lorenzo who are at the vanguard of the digital enablement that frees our colleagues to focus on the people we care for, delivering the best possible care and allowing them to live their best life.”

Lorenzo continues to transform the way Choice Care uses digital technology to enhance the social care we provide, and it’s all down to his innovative mind, his patience and his genuine care for colleagues and the people we support.
