Introducing the New Choice Care Graduate Scheme!

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Choice Care Graduate Scheme!

The scheme aims to give new graduates the opportunity to develop a rewarding career in the care sector, through a structured, two-year accelerated development programme, followed by twelve months in a field-based operational support role.

Marlene Boyd, People Director, said:

“We’re really proud to be launching our first graduate scheme. It’s an exciting opportunity to welcome new talent, support development, and help graduates to build meaningful careers, making a real difference to the people we support.”

As an organisation, we’re extremely proud that just under 90% of our managers have progressed internally at Choice Care – and this is something we are absolutely committed to maintaining. We love our people; growing our own talent, investing in our own people, and creating meaningful progression opportunities will always remain a top priority for us.

The Graduate Scheme is designed to complement and enhance our internal talent pool, bringing fresh perspective and ideas, alongside additional resource to where it’s needed most.

For graduates, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience to help develop a rewarding and fulfilling career in the Care sector. Here are just some details of what to expect from the scheme:

  • Work towards a new Level 5 Lead Adult Care Worker qualification
  • Accelerated progression into the care sector
  • Play a key role in shaping the future of the care sector
  • Gaining real-life experience and developing hands-on skills
  • Access to dedicated support throughout
  • The chance to build a career with purpose, making a difference every day by supporting people to lead the lives they want to live

Emma Hawke, Head of Organisational Development, said:

“Launching our new graduate scheme marks a brilliant opportunity to bring in fresh ideas, grow future talent, and shape the next generation of leaders in care. It’s a real step forward for Choice Care and something we’re hugely proud to be leading on; creating opportunities that will strengthen our future and bring new energy, passion, and ambition into the sector.”

What Graduates can expect from the Choice Care Graduate Scheme

This year, we will be recruiting a small cohort of around three to four graduates to come on board as Graduate Manager Trainees. They will follow a structured two-year accelerated development programme, which has been thoughtfully designed to provide both depth and breadth of experience across the organisation.

The programme will offer:

  • Placements across both service-based and cross-functional, office-based roles
  • Exposure to central functions such as Estates, HR, Marketing, and other central support departments, allowing graduates to build a valuable, wider organisational perspective
  • Structured leadership and management development throughout the programme, with graduates working towards a Level 5 qualification in Adult Care

During service-based placements, the Graduate Manager Trainees will work across a variety of different service types, including Learning Disability, Mental Health, Residential and Supported Living. These placements will allow them to build hands-on leadership capabilities, alongside developing a strong understanding of day-to-day service delivery.

The cross-functional, office-based placements will give graduates the opportunity to build a valuable perspective of the wider organisation. They will gain experience in areas including Quality, Referrals, and Specialist Support and Therapy (SST) to help develop a clear understanding of central functions, including Estates, HR, Marketing, and other support departments.

Following the initial two-year development programme, graduates will transition into field-based operational support roles for a further twelve months. During this time, they will provide additional leadership capacity in services where extra support would be a welcome addition.

Upon completion of the whole three-year scheme, graduates will have the opportunity to apply for Service Manager positions, allowing candidates to secure roles based on their own merit.

We can’t wait to welcome our graduates into Choice Care!
