Catherine Care Raise Over £8,000 Through Local Fundraising and DPD Donation

We spoke to Sharron Keown at Catherine Care, who have benefited from a major fundraising effort and a generous donation from parcel company DPD!

Sharron says: ‘Thanks to the commitment of Mark and Clare Crabb, who dedicate so much time every year to support Catherine Care, and Cat Jackson who works at DPD and has been supporting the charity, a recent fundraising evening raised over £8,000 and DPD agreed to match fund the amount, doubling the total raised! The combined funds have already been put to good use and have enabled us to buy an innovative sensory resource, first seen by colleagues at the Autism Show earlier this year, which will provide valuable enjoyment for Catherine Care visitors.’

The money was donated to The Friends of Catherine Care fund, a fund that is used for resources and activities that go beyond statutory provision and make a real difference to the people who visit Catherine Care.

Volkan Belikli, Regional Manager at DPD, visited Catherine Care to formally present the donation the other week. Volkan said: ‘It was fantastic to visit Catherine Care and learn more about the incredible work they do and the opportunities and support they provide.  I really enjoyed the tour and the performance, and I’m delighted that Cat and DPD have been able to assist in this way.’

Sharron continues: ‘Catherine Care would like to thank Mark and Claire for their continued support and dedication and to DPD for their generous donation. This support makes such a difference to the resources and opportunities we can offer to the people attending Catherine Care. It is such a pleasure to be working alongside such generous and caring people.’
