Winton Lodge is a large, nine-bedroom residential home supporting men and women with mild to severe learning disabilities and complex needs, such as autism, and mental health conditions. All current residents are able to communicate verbally, and range in age from 27 to 48.
In a pleasant residential setting, close to the centre of Bournemouth, the property opened after refurbishment in November 2015 to provide contemporary ensuite bedrooms, a large kitchen, dining room and two lounges, one for community activities and another kept as a quiet room so residents have the choice to relax in a more independent environment.
Winton Lodge has its own activities room, which gives residents a space to participate in individual and group activities, like painting and puzzling. Others enjoy gardening in the large, sunny, private garden.
There are also two separate, self-contained, one-bedroom annexes suitable for individuals who benefit from a more tailored environment, but also enjoy sharing some time or activities with the community group.
An experienced staff team of around 20 support those living at Winton Lodge to develop independence and life skills. The Positive Behaviour Support Team work with each individual and staff colleagues to ensure emotional and mental wellbeing needs are understood and met.
