Understanding your legal rights with AccessAva

We are excited to share that we have launched a new digital support tool, AccessAva, designed to help the people we supported and their loved ones to better understand their legal rights within health and social care.

Developed by Access Social Care, AccessAva is a free, easy-to-use AI-powered digital assistant that provides clear, accessible legal information and practical guidance for people navigating the often-complex social care system.

Available directly through our website, the tool guides people through a series of simple questions before directing them to tailored legal information, downloadable factsheets, template letters and practical resources relevant to their situation.

The AI tool also offers practical next steps, including template letters that can help individuals raise concerns, request assessments or challenge decisions made about care and support.

By embedding AccessAva within our online support resources, we’re helping make legal information more accessible and empowering people to make informed decisions and feel more confident when navigating social care processes.

Julie Rowlands, Head of Mental Health Law at Choice Care, said:

Navigating the complexities of social care can be a real challenge and ensuring that you, or your loved ones, are receiving everything that you’re entitled to can be a battle that people can’t face or don’t know where to begin. AccessAva is a brilliant tool that helps with this- it’s free, available 24/7 and doesn’t involve having to repeat information or share personal details. I’m really pleased we have made this available to the people we support, their families and our colleagues and I’m looking forward to seeing the impact of people feeling better equipped and more empowered with the knowledge they need.”
