Cambria House is a large, detached home, two minutes’ walk from the busy town centre of Winchester, within easy reach of the shops, train station, cinemas, college and sports centre.
The home provides support for up to eight adult men with mild learning disabilities, autism and associated emotional, behavioural and communication challenges. Residents are semi-independent, but require ongoing 24-hour support, from a team of 20 experienced staff.
Accommodation is spread over three floors, and includes a courtyard garden with a decked seating area. On the ground floor, there is one single ensuite bedroom, a bathroom, large communal lounge, shared kitchen, dining room, and a smaller relaxation lounge. Upstairs, there are four ensuite bedrooms and a small computer room. The lower ground floor provides three further ensuite bedrooms, a sensory room, laundry room and staff office.
Residents are encouraged to socialise and take part in community events. They are involved in theatre, football, local day centres and social clubs and a nearby gym. There is an excellent public transport network, allowing easy access to local educational and recreational activities. The home also has its own transport for leisure, recreational and educational outings.
