Supported Living CIW Report | Care Without Compromise

DATE: 03.04.2024

Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) have just published their Regulated Services Inspection report for CWC Support Services, with amazing feedback!

CIW inspect services across Wales to make sure they are safe for the people using them. CWC Support Services is part of Care Without Compromise (CWC) our sister company in Wales who joined Choice Care Group in March 2022.

Care Without Compromise supports people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions and associated complex needs and has its own clinical team with a particular expertise in understanding and supporting people who display behaviours that challenge.

Here’s some of the fantastic comments the team received within the report...

‘People receive high quality care and support. The service focuses on people’s strengths and finds innovative ways to help them flourish. Care workers help people maintain safe, positive relationships, so they can enjoy socialising with family and friends. Relatives told us they feel at ease during visits and have observed people becoming more engaged and enthused.’

‘The management team and RI closely monitor the quality of the service to ensure high standards are maintained.’

‘Managers work collaboratively with family members and professionals to ensure people’s care and support arrangements are the best they can be. Care workers give people as much control over their lives as possible, as they adapt to living independently. People are supported by staff who have been through rigorous recruitment and training.’

CWC Support Services were also commended on how they support individuals needs: ‘People are encouraged to build community connections by regularly visiting places of interest and attending various events. One person spoke proudly about their role in a company awards ceremony.’ Another person said, “If I could rate it out of five stars, I’d give it five”. A relative said, “It’s absolutely exemplary… this is the best service I have ever seen”.

About our colleagues: ‘Staff have an excellent understanding of who people are. They support people confidently and with dignity and respect. They actively listen to people and help them progress by offering well-timed praise and reassurance. A small number of staff are fluent Welsh speakers and could fully support people’s Welsh language needs. Staff receive exceptional support. They consistently rate the service ‘excellent’ in terms of how valued they feel and the support and development opportunities available to them".

Here's some wonderful feedback from colleagues at CWC Support Services: ‘Staff told us “This is the best company I’ve worked for” and “The level of support provided to clients and staff is above and beyond amazing!”. “Management encourage staff to thrive. We are always praised for our work and communication between staff and management is excellent”.

Daryl Quarry, Director of Services, Wales at Choice Care says: 'I am very proud of CWC’s Supported Living CIW report and very grateful to the team for delivering on this. As a Residential based service provision CIW were very impressed with how the Supported Living service has been set up and with the support being delivered. This inspection was done as part of CIW’s new ratings pilot scheme. I was very impressed with the silent rating the service was awarded!’

Valerie Michie, CEO at Choice Care says: ‘I am delighted to see the regulator recognise the experience and rigour of this new service set up by the CWC team, well done to everyone involved.’

Huge congratulations to the team!
