The Linden Allotment is a project for young adults with autism in Surrey to learn and enjoy growing flowers and vegetables.
The allotment is set in the tranquil walled gardens at the Springbok Estate and has a vegetable plot, a therapeutic wildflower meadow and a large greenhouse.
Funded by the Linden Farm Residents' Association (LFRA), the young people we support at Linden farm visit the allotment to plant various fruit and vegetables, including, potatoes, runner beans, broad beans, leeks, sweet corn, broccoli, various herbs, tomatoes and strawberries.
Linden Allotment had a wonderful open evening recently, and enjoyed scones from Juby Lee Bakes, homemade jam from neighbours, delicious salmon salad. It was a lovely gathering for our young people, Choice Care staff and parents.
There are lots of plans in place for future projects, including adding a picnic table and some large flower pots.
