Recently we reported about the ‘Diverse Disco’ which took place on Monday 15th May in Swindon, where a fantastic time was had by some of the people we support here at Choice Care. This weekly disco is organised by ‘Embrace All’ - a group which runs events aimed for people with disabilities.
The team behind #Diverse Disco are fundraising for their 'Embrace All' festival - which will be held in Swindon on 5th August. Funds raised will help cover the cost of the venue, a sign language interpreter, an accessible toilet and some of the music / event organisation.
There are already 9 live acts and 3 DJs confirmed for the event, which will run from 12.30pm-9pm. There will be various food and drink vendors, stalls and more. The team will ensure they cater for all dietary requirements including ‘soft’ options.
The event will also have a mobiloo (toilet with hoist) and a sign language interpreter. The organisers will ensure that wheelchair users will have easy access into and out of the event, and to and from the accessible toilets.
This event is open to all ages. One carer per person can attend the event free of charge.

Just leaving you with a quote from Valerie Michie, our CEO who attended the #DiverseDiscoevent and said: ‘Clubbing at the diverse disco was a night of pure joy – the dance floor was packed and there was a brilliant feeling of togetherness. Music, friends, lights, good times and dancing. Everyone wanted to know when the next one would be…..the organisers have created something quite wonderful and I loved coming along for the night. They are amazing women who I have the utmost respect for. Choice will be delighted to support them in any way we can.’
