We talk to Deputy Regional Director, Leighanne, who has been with Choice Care since 2008. Let’s find out more!

Congratulations on your Choiceversary – how many years are you celebrating and when did you start?
 Thank you, so it has been 15 years within the organisation - I started in the summer of 2008 as a social care worker in the service Fritham Lodge which is in the south region.

What made you decide to take the role at Choice up initially?
 Honestly, I had no intention of working in care. I qualified in something completely different, but due to a personal circumstance changed my mind. I applied for some care roles and Choice was the one I picked - and I have just not looked back!

How has your role progressed during your time here?
 I started off as a Social Care Worker - within 4 years I was an acting manager. I was a registered manager at Appleton for several years before I took a big leap into the ops team. During my progression, I did help out managing other services and supporting homes. I also did the formal procedures role.

What do you are you particularly love about your role?
 That each day is different and not one service is the same - so it is enjoyable working alongside and supporting so many different people.

How would you sum up working at Choice Care?
 A place to grow, find yourself and be the best you can be.

What did you do before you joined Choice Care? 
 I was a qualified beauty therapist.

 I have the best team around me. We are all so different and have different experiences which really works when you need support or guidance and each one of my services are amazing in the own way!
