Positive Behaviour Support

Positive support is an approach looking at ourselves and service users; at the responses we give, and the approaches we take to managing situations. The training aims to –

  • Go through the history of approaches to working with learning disabilities through the ages, in order to further think about our own values and beliefs.
  • To think about our awareness of ours and others attitudes, beliefs and abilities. To recognise our limitations, managing our emotions and improve our coping skills.
  • To introduce positive approaches to working with challenging behaviour, including promoting team working skills.
  • We aim to provide you with as much information as we can on how you can work to provide the best level of support to people the service users you work with.
