Food Hygiene
This course follows the syllabus laid down by the CIEH. It covers all major aspects of food hygiene and is suitable for all food handlers responsible for proving safe, clean food.
A short examination is held at the end of the course. This is a straightforward check to ensure that those attending have understood the information given.
The course will cover the following areas:-
- The causes of food poisoning
- How to prevent food poisoning and food contamination.
- The standards of personal hygiene required by food handlers.
- How food legislation affects the food handler.
- The importance of the design of food premises.
- Correct storage of food.
- Common pests in food premises and how they can be controlled.
- The importance of cleaning procedures
- The law around food safety.
