Cambria House is a large, detached house, situated just two minutes walk from the busy town centre of Winchester and within easy reach of the shops, cinemas, college and sports centre. There is a mainline station within walking distance of the home, and there is also an excellent bus network, allowing easy access to local educational and recreational activities,
Cambria House provides support for eight adult men with mild learning disabilities and associated complex emotional and behavioural difficulties. They are semi-independent, but require ongoing 24-hour support, counselling and care.
The accommodation is spread over three floors, and includes a courtyard garden with a decked seating area. On the ground floor, there is one single bedroom with en-suite facilities, a bathroom, dining room, kitchen, communal lounge and smaller relaxation lounge. On the first floor, there are four single bedrooms with en-suite facilities and a small office space for the service users with a computer and internet facilities. The lower ground floor contains three further single bedrooms with en-suite facilities, a sensory room, utility laundry room and office.
Although based in the town centre, the home has its own transport for leisure, recreational and educational trips and activities in the community.
