Otterbourne House is one of Choice Care Group’s brand new homes, opened in September 2015.
Otterbourne House supports both male and female adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, including diagnoses of personality disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and a history of risk to themselves or others.
Service users are supported with 24-hour staffing and access to in-house psychological support. Like other Choice Care Group homes, Otterbourne House will offer structured activity programmes to support education and personal development, designed to maximise independence and enable service users to achieve their goals.
The home, in Compton, near Winchester, has seven en suite bedrooms and two separate self-contained annexes. The annexes offer a flexible residential service option for service users who enjoy the opportunities provided by a larger service, including socialising with other residents, but find living with other people challenging. Each annexe has its own lounge and kitchenette while the rest of the home has a large lounge, separate quiet lounge area and dining room. The individual en-suite rooms also have their own patio area for socialising with family and friends
The house sits in grounds of around 2.5 acres and is located about two miles south of Winchester and four miles north of Eastleigh; adjacent to the M3 motorway.
