Family Fun for Pudsey
Staff and service users at Twynhams in New Milton did their bit for charity recently when they hosted a Fun Day for Children in Need.
Around 70 local residents paid a visit to the home over the course of the day, helping to build the home’s links with the local community, together with service users from Twynhams and other nearby homes. Three service users also helped out with organising the event.
Activities included face painting, competitions, a tombola and a bric a brac stall, with over £230 raised in total.
The team at Twynhams promoted the event beforehand by putting up posters and getting in touch with the local paper, then handed over the proceeds at the presentation evening organised by local TV news programme South Today.
Day care organiser Sarah Nunn said: “Everyone had a really great time, and some of our service users had their own responsibilities on the day, which was fantastic for them.
“It was the first time we had run anything like this, but it all went really well, even when we had to move everything indoors because of the rain! We’re definitely going to do something like this again in the future.”
