Jay* originally moved in to Choice Care Group (then named Truecare) in 2007 from Children’s Services. Unfortunately, this was quite a difficult time for Jay and initially, he was very unsettled and anxious about his new home.
For some time now, we have been approaching commissioners and care management teams to discuss ways in which we can develop person-centred services for individuals with highly complex needs who may require a bespoke living environment. Recognising that we have the skills, experience and clinical infrastructure to manage complex behavioural needs, we have been keen to develop creative solutions to accommodation requirements.
Following a lengthy discharge from hospital, Enoch moved into Fritham Lodge in October 2010. Enoch had been extremely keen to move into a community placement and to get on planning his future.
For the first 20 years of her life, Jade divided her time between her home and her special school in Surrey but, when the time came to leave school, her family faced a big decision on her future.
Having looked after Richard he was three, his foster parents were determined that, when the time came for him to move on, he would live somewhere that not only understood his needs, but that would allow him to feel at home and stay for the foreseeable future.
